Australian born Don Percy is mostly director, frequently producer, increasingly editor, and begrudgingly – now and again – writer.

Don began producing films at the age of 10, winning the Victorian State Student Film Awards with SPACE SPOOF in 1979. What started as a hobby led to acceptance in the SWINBURNE FILM AND TELEVISION SCHOOL course where he graduated as a BACHELOR OF FILM AND TELEVISION at age 20.

Through ADONIS FILMS PTY LTD Don directs, produces and edits TVC’s, corporates, web content, music videos and shorts. He also works frequently as a freelance director by invitation. Don specialises in performance based and humorous work; and has always loved projects that require a clever mix of organic and computer aided visual effects.

As a commercial director, Don has directed over 500 commercials and corporate content for clients as diverse as Telstra, PhysiCAL Milk, Bendigo Bank, Fiskars, Lockwood, Rothschilds, Hitachi, Janome, Stihl, 7 Eleven, Nylex, Nintendo, Jenny Craig, Malvern Star, The Good Guys, Mitre 10, Homyped, Guardian Pharmacies, Energy Safe Victoria, The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development, Sustainability Victoria, Chisholm, Rover and The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources.

As a film maker, Don’s work has claimed awards from early creations such as the multi-award-winning comedy short THE SKATEBOARD SAGA (as seen on HEY HEY IT’S SATURDAY) through to 2013’s world wide hit MAKEOVER.

In 1999 Don directed and co-wrote the FFC funded documentary FUNNY BY GEORGE: THE GEORGE WALLACE STORY for ABC-TV. The documentary was distributed on Roadshow home video and DVD. Amongst the many excellent reviews THE HERALD SUN called it a “…thoroughly entertaining documentary” while THE AGE claimed it to be a “a well researched and fascinating biography.”

In 2012 Don’s self-penned, produced & directed short feature INANIMATE OBJECTS was released to DVD in Australia and attracted many excellent reviews.
EMPIRE said it’s “great fun” and “offers equal amounts charm and goofy slapstick.”

Don’s seven-minute short MAKEOVER, completed in 2013, was first entered into TROPFEST (Sydney) and was awarded 2nd place at that festival. With official selections in Film Festival’s worldwide, it has also received a string of awards including the Best Film Award at the INDIAN FILM FESTIVAL of MELBOURNE, SHEPPARTON FILM FESTIVAL, and NARKOLEPSY FF, Grenoble, France. With over 1.8 million YouTube hits, MAKEOVER continues its worldwide festival success and public adoration…

TWO MOMENTS IN TIME premiered at the 2018 St Kilda Film Festival as one of AUSTRALIA’S TOP 100 SHORTS. What started out as a family film project finished as a film with great heart showcasing the final moving performance of international actor Lewis Fiander.

The sky is the limit with multiple projects in various stages of development including shorts, features, web-series and TV-series. Don’s eye for detail and obsessive perfectionism gives his work an enviable edge…Don is available for both TVC and Drama work…
